Recent Activity| < Back Kindergarten Age Requirement A child entering kindergarten shall be no less than five (5) years of age on or before August 31, 2013 to enter school for the 2013-2014 school year and August 15 for the years thereafter. Any child legally enrolled in an approved kindergarten in another state during the preceding school year, who could have enrolled in the first grade in that state in the current school year and who makes application for admission, shall be enrolled in the first grade if he is six (6) years of age by September 30 of the current school year. No child shall be eligible to enter first grade without having attended an approved kindergarten program. What do I need to bring to register my child for for kindergarten?
Kindergarten registration (Round-up) is held once a year in April at all KCS elementary schools. Please register at your zoned school. If you are new to Knox County, have moved since the roundup, or missed the roundup, please contact your local school. |
